It is always a pleasure to work on such a charismatic bad guy like Leatherface played by Gunnar Hansen in 1974's cult classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Using a chiaroscuro technique I wanted to truly emphasize the contrast between his childish gaze and his repulsive, fleshy, leather-like face to create an even more terrifying character.
Using my signature scratchboard technique with a scalpel, my black and white poster took me over 120 hours to complete. When Mondo asked me to work on a variation of my poster I asked Rob Jones (Grammy Awards Winner, 2010) for help. He created a gold/copper version on cream colored paper that is truly sublime.
